August 2020 Technique Blog Hop

Hello everyone and welcome to the August 2020 Technique Blog Hop. This month’s theme is Bleach stamping. I am so excited to show you my project.

With Bleach Stamping, you want to be sure you have at least 8 layers of paper towels. I used 5 paper towels folded in half. I placed them in a plastic container and poured enough bleach on to saturate them. This way they are wet like a stamp pad. I used the Rooted In Nature stamp set.

You can see in the image where I stamped my images after placing the stamp in the bleach.

Here is a close up of those bleached images. I added a little wink of stella to my stamped cardstock too.

I popped up my greeting with dimensionals. This is kind of a plain card this month, but I am satisfied with the way it turned out. I would love to know what you think…please leave me a comment to let me know.

Watercolor Pencils are my latest obsession!

Hello to all of you! Happy Monday. I a=have a product to share with you this week that is not new by any means, but that has become my latest obsession lately. I cannot get enough of watercolor and using my watercolor pencils!

I just love how they can be used as a pencil or as a watercolor medium. I have been having so much fun playing with my pencils this past weekend. Below is a sample of a project that can be created using the pencils.

And here is a fun video that shows you how to use them!

Stay tuned for some fun projects this week using the watercolor pencils! Happy Stamping!!

July 2020 3D Paper Trimmer Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to the July 2020 3D Paper Trimmer Blog Hop! This is an international Hop featuring projects from around the world, I am so glad you could join us. This month’s theme is Christmas in July, and I am giving you a sneak peek of some items that will be available from the new Holiday Catalog. I can’t wait to show you my project!

I am Nicole with Sugar and Scraps, I am in the US. You have just joined me from Sigrid Joch’s Blog. Didn’t you just love her project? My project is a Center step card, and I will show you how to make it in the video below. It is a lot easier then it looks.

I used Cherry Cobbler as my base with Sahara Sand for my layers and a NEW DSP that will be available in August. It is part of a NEW Suite of products, it is called Plaid Tidings.

I also used some stamps and dies from the NEW Suite as well. I added a couple little sprig punches. Below is a video that shows you how to make this card!

Here are some written directions as well:

Take an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of card stock and your paper trimmer. You are going to start with the 5 1/2″ side at the top of your trimmer. Move the right side of the card base to the right side of the cutting guide and line it up at the 1 1/4″ mark. Cut the card base starting at 1″ down to 5 1/4″. Move the left side of the card base to the 1 1/4″ mark on the left side of the cutting guide and cut again from 1 ” down to 5 1/4″. Turn your cardstock counter clockwise so that the 8 1/2″ side is now at the top of your trimmer. You are going to score at 1″ and 2″ on the outside or your cut lines. Move the card base to 4 1/4″ and score on the inside of the cut lines. Lastly, move the card base to 5 1/4″ and score only on the outside of the cut lines. Fold you card base.

The measurements for the card stock and DSP layers are as follows:

The 2 sides are 1″ x 3″ (cardstock) and 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ (DSP), the center is 3 1/8″ x 2 3/4″ (bottom layer) and 2 7/8″ x 2 1/2″ (Whisper White Layer), the bottom strip is 5 1/4″ x 3/4″ (cardstock) and 5″ x 1/2″ (DSP), and my inside layers are 4″ x 2 3/4″ (bottom layer) and 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ (Whisper White Layer).

I hope that my video and written instructions were clear, if not feel free to ask me for clarification!

Again, I really hope you enjoyed my project, and if you did, please leave me a little comment. Click on the NEXT button to continue hopping along through our talented list of creators.

Christmas In July Blog Hop

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Christmas In July Blog Hop! This should be a super exciting hop full of very talented demonstrators. I hope you enjoy!

I got my inspiration for this card from Pinterest, and you can see that post HERE. I thought it was a lovely card, and I knew I wanted to use Blue and White.

My wreath is made with the Spring Punch and Whisper White card stock. I cut my Night of Navy card stock and layered it onto a Whisper White card base.

I stamped my greeting in Versa Mark and heat embossed using Silver Emboss Powder. Then I added a few Red Rhinestones.

Simple Stamping with So Sentimental

Hello my crafty friends! I hope everyone is fabulous this Monday morning. I cannot believe how quickly the summer is flying by. In just 3 short weeks I am officially going to have a kindergartner…eek! It seems crazy to me, just yesterday she was this tiny baby. Any other mama’s out there with little one’s starting school for the first time? Any advice from mom’s with kids that have been in school? I’m both excited and extremely nervous.

Well, onto our project for today. It is a #simplestamping card with just ink (well markers actually), stamps, and paper plus a couple die cuts. Drawing some simple lines on a white card base gave me a colorful background. I used Magenta Madness, Just Jade, and Misty Moonlight. My die cut layer is Seaside Spray, and my sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight.

I love how bright the colors are. The Seaside Spray is a nice subtle layer too I think.

I really hope you enjoyed my quick project today. Drop me a comment and let me know.

Happy Stamping!

Tip of the Week

Hello my crafty friends! I have decided to do a New weekly video series of tips. The first few weeks are going to be a Back to Basics approach for anyone new to stamping or anyone that wants a refresh!

How to Read a Ruler:

Do you struggle to read a ruler, or find you ask yourself, “Where is the quarter inch mark on a ruler? And what….3/16th of an inch??!” Let me help you out! Reading a ruler is something we all need to learn and if you want to know “what are the measurements on a ruler?” I think this video will help you measure things out in no time.

Below is the video I did to help you out!

My favorite tool for cutting and measuring my card stock is the Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer, below you can find some pretty great information about it.

Everything you need to know about the Paper Trimmer:

  • Size: 15 ⅜” x 8” – when arm is extended, measures to 17″
  • Cuts 12 ½” wide to 17 ¼” long
  • Includes (1) cutting blade & (1) scoring blade
  • Blades are long lasting
  • Imperial & metric measurements included
  • Imperial measurements on the arm also
  • Creates clean, straight cuts with no jagged edges
  • Cut through (3) sheets of White or Vanilla with one pass
  • Cut through (2) sheets of colored cardstock with one pass
  • Cut through (3) sheets of Designer Series Paper with one pass
  • Ruler area is protected by a durable plastic cover so the measurements can’t rub off
  • Use the Right side grid for cutting thin strips and the left side for wider cuts
  • Can hang on a wall or hook
  • Lightweight
  • Portable
  • $25.00 – USA

July 2020 Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop

Welcome to the monthly Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop. This month’s theme is Male Card – Any Occasion. I decided to use Rooted in Nature, I feel this can be a masculine or a feminine stamp set depending on how you use it. Thank you for dropping by. I do hope you enjoy my project.

The inspiration for this card came from Connie Stewart over at Simply Simple Stamping. She has some amazing cards, and you can see hers HERE. I sure hope you enjoy mine too!

I created a simple Z-fold card base, and added a couple simple layers and stamped elements.

I stamped in the inside too. I felt like it added a little something extra.

Free As A Bird Online Card Class Replay

My weekly Online Card Class was Live at 10 am this morning on my Facebook page Sugar and Scraps. I hope you were able to catch it live, but if not no worries. I have the replay for you here!

The cards I made today during my Facebook Live were inspired by a set in the Annual catalog. I changed up my project and Card Class colors, but the design was almost the same.

Here is the set I made during my Facebook Live!

I also did a side by side comparison of the 2 different versions.

Below is the recorded version of my Online Class for you to enjoy.

Thanks for watching, and Happy Stamping!!
